What I’ve learnt from the past 10 years of tutoring and mentorship of over 700 students, is that as a tutor it is your responsibility to connect with each and every one of your students.  The only way to motivate your students to study hard is if they genuinely want to do it for themselves.  Now, the only way you can do this as a tutor is if you are genuine and wholeheartedly care for your students and their progress. You have to inspire them to want to study, and be there to support them when they feel overwhelmed and scared.
