2012 Cohort:

Khoi tutored me for UMAT and trained me for interview taking in 2012. He is a knowledgeable and skilful teacher in this area and was a large part in my entrance into medicine. The strengths of his tutoring included the structure of the classes, applicability of techniques and mentorship from a medical student who had been in the same position. The class sizes are small which facilitates questions and interactivity. Khoi’s techniques for each section, particularly section 3, are unique and have continually proven to help excel students in the UMAT. Furthermore, his guidance and advice for year 12 students looking to get into medicine or dentistry is second-to-none. I am now studying medicine at the University of New South Wales and owe a great deal to the challenging, yet rewarding, period of time in Khoi’s classes.

Having sat the UMAT 3 times in 2011, 2012, 2013. I have gone to many UMAT training courses over those years trying to chase my dreams of getting into dentistry.

The private tutoring of Khoi and Peter was the most helpful of all. This was due to the resources they have and the knowledge and skills to tackle all 3 sections of the paper. I only found out about this tutoring on my last attempt of the UMAT where my grade increased significantly in all sections.

Also being in smaller groups it was basically 1 on 1 tutoring so it felt great to know that I was being looked after along the way. I would encourage anyone doing the UMAT to do as much study for it as possible but especially go to the tutoring of Khoi as it helped me immensely!!

As a medical student himself, Khoi approaches his tutoring with a caring nature and warm consideration to his students’ aspirations. As his student, you really feel supported and cared for - it’s more of a personal experience compared to other companies. His teaching style is unique in its own sense, stemming from his dedication to finding his own way in teaching the UMAT, especially section 3. This was my highest scoring section and I really don’t think I would have scored so high in the UMAT without him! He also coached me through the interview process, giving helpful tips and advice through his own experience. Thanks for helping me get into medicine!

After working with a couple of other UMAT tutors and having unsuccessful results, I finally achieved a good score after a year working with Khoi. He offered a very different and unique approach to tackling questions, something he's formulated over years of tutoring experience. He is also a very friendly and approachable person which helps with the stress of preparation. I strongly recommend him for students seeking targeted improvements and not just a question bank
